Music

Music at Parkfield

Music is an important part of the curriculum at Parkfield. Music in Years 1-6 follow the Charanga Scheme to help fulfil the demands of the National Curriculum, so that children can develop their singing skills and learn a range of songs.

All children in Year 4 have music taught to them by specialist music teachers, so that they are able to learn to play a musical instrument (a guitar). At the end of the year, Year 4 showcase they musical prowess, with a guitar performance to other year groups.

Children get to hear a range of musical genres during assemblies. Information about these is displayed on a dedicated board at the front of the hall and the person leading the hall assembly discusses these with the children.

At Parkfield, we also have our very own radio station. This radio station, ran by children, broadcasts the latest hits everyday during dinnertimes.
